Design Engineer

The Company

Established over 30 years ago and now owned by a Fortune 500 manufacturer of specialised industrial products and equipment, our client is recognised as one of the few rapidly growing global companies within the heat transfer field. With decades of creative work, leading-edge competence and committed staff has resulted in them developing into one of the top Heat Exchanger manufacturer. They are keen to appoint a dynamic Business/Design Engineer to help with the sheer volume of projects they currently have and are projected.

The Role:

• Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will take full responsibility for the activities associated with designing, specifying, and reviewing heat transfer equipment including shell and tube exchangers, air fan cooled exchangers, plate and frame exchangers and double pipe exchangers.
• You will be the technical authority on the companies projects/products and capabilities
• Capable of performing and checking design calculations and drawings, preparing equipment datasheets, requisitions, carrying out technical bid evaluations and reviewing vendor documents.
• Keeping design standards up to date and produce new design standards where required
• Supporting sales activities to produce cost-effective bids

The Candidate:

Candidates selected for interview should ideally be able to demonstrate:

• Experience of or be familiar with design calculations and drawings for Heat Exchangers/Heat Transfer Equipment
• Good knowledge of major industry Codes and Standards prevalent in Oil & Gas, Chemicals & other associated industries (e.g. ASME, API, etc.) applicable to Heat Transfer Equipment.
• Familiarity with software for thermal design calculations (HTRI, Solidworks etc.)
• Highly professional verbal and written communication skills
• Engaging and outgoing personality, be a good team player and possess the desire and commitment to deliver superior results
