Site Design Engineer

They are keen to appoint a ­­­Telecoms Site Design Engineer to help shape the future direction of the Engineering Business Unit.

The Role:

You will personally be responsible for undertaking all technical aspects of the preparation of Civil and Structural documentation and delivery of design packages and implementation of designs for the mobile phone telecommunications base stations.

Activities include:

• Site survey and design of the civil and structural aspects for telecommunications base stations within the UK.
• Production of structural calculations for rooftop site installations.
• Responsible for building regulations applications where required.
• Oversight of production and checking of AutoCAD drawings.
• Providing technical support to site based resource relating to installation and commissioning activities.
• Responsible for the production of Health and Safety File documentation.

Candidate’s Profile:

Essential:

• Structural steel and timber design and calculation
• Concrete and structural steel base design
• Concrete base design including reinforcement schedules for towers
• Structural analysis software.
• Geotechnical/soil analysis for base design in the telecoms environment

Desirables:

• IStructE affiliation or other Engineering institution
• Working knowledge of structural software
• Applicable knowledge of CDM regulations
• AutoCAD
• Microsoft
